Community Events For The Whole Family!
Each Friday, we like to take a little break from our traditional dental topics to talk about the Dallas community. In today’s blog, we’re going to look at four upcoming events that are fun for the whole family, from back to school giveaways to magic shows! In the meantime, be sure you schedule a checkup for your child with your Dallas, TX, pediatric dentist.
Take Precautions!
Some of these events will be online, while others will involve driving through or attending in person outdoors. Remember that while being outdoors is significantly safer than being indoors, you still need to wear a mask and maintain a social distance of at least six feet from others.
Silly Magic
You and your family can enjoy a 90-minute magic show that features everything from tricks and clowning to vaudeville routines and more. The show is great for all ages, and will take place at Confetti Eddie’s Magic Parlor on 823 Exposition Avenue from 7:30pm until 10pm. Admission is $15 to $20, and the shows take place every three weeks on Saturday. The next one is tomorrow!
Sweet Storytime
Sweet as Sugar Children’s Boutique, located on 3699 McKinney Avenue #407, will be hosting a reading of Harold and the Purple Crayon. The first few attendees will be gifted a board book of the story, and a set of purple crayons! All parents in attendance will entered into a raffle to win a $50 Sweet as Sugar gift card. The event takes pace at 10:45am on Saturday, September 5th.
Deep Ellum Arts Festival
The 3-day Deep Ellum Arts Festival will take place on Friday, September 11th through the 13th. There will be over 200 artists selling original and commissioned works in attendance. Live music and performances will also be featured. A great event for the whole family to enjoy!
Back to School Giveaway
Early Head Start at Lakewood will be hosting a back-to-school giveaway on Saturday, September 12th from 10am until 2pm. There will be 300 backpacks and supplies sets given away, and participants must provide a Texas ID or driver’s license, and proof of household total income. The event will be drive thru to keep everyone safe, and is limited to two bags a family for those making $30,000 or less annually. The event will take place at 3737 Goldman Street #100.
