Does Your Child Need A Pediatric Filling?

We know that the last thing you want is to find out that your child needs restorative treatments. However, we encourage you to remain calm and recognize that your child’s comfort and happiness are our top priority. When it comes to tooth decay, the sooner we detect and treat the concern, the sooner your child can return to complete comfort and daily function. About Tooth Decay

Tooth decay typically develops as the result of plaque that adheres to – and remains on – teeth. Keep in mind, nearly everyone will experience a cavity at least one time in his or her life. Even with exceptional dental care, small traces of plaque may result in a cavity so it is nothing to feel upset about. However, tooth decay is progressive, which means it will continue to worsen until you seek treatment. By agreeing to a pediatric filling if your child experiences tooth decay, you will stop the problem in its tracks, while restoring your child’s oral health.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Don’t worry, we will not place a metal filling in your child’s tooth. Your little one will hardly remember that he or she ever experienced a cavity. First, remember that we will numb the tooth in question as well as surrounding tissues, so your child’s experience is comfortable. We also offer sedation options if your child requires a little extra relaxation. To repair your child’s tooth, we will use composite – a synthetic acrylic-resin material free of metal and mercury – that we will color-match to your child’s tooth. The result? A tooth that feels good, functions, and that looks like it never had a cavity in the first place.
