We could use the same material to also address minor injuries too.

Dental Crowns

If you child requires treatment for more severe cavities or injuries, or if they need help improve bite balance and chewing function, then our team could recommend a dental crown. The restoration will cap the tooth and fit over the visible portion. Our team could use stainless steel for the side and rear teeth, as these teeth endure greater bite forces. For the more front facing and visible teeth, we may use a more natural looking NuSmile zirconia. Placement involves numbing the tooth, removing structure to make room for the crown, and then attaching the crown with a powerful bonding agent.

Pulpotomy

What if a tooth has developed an infection? When this happens, you need restorative dentistry to help your child avoid the loss of the tooth and the spread of infection. Instead of a traditional root canal, we have a more conservative alternative known as a pulpotomy. Our team will numb the tooth and possibly offer sedation before we open the tooth to remove the infected tissues from within. We then add a mediated filling and cure it. For some, this completes the procedure, while others may need a crown to cap the tooth. In one visit, this can stop infection and bring relief from discomfort, preventing the loss of a tooth.
