Ensuring Patient Health and Safety with Good Office Hygiene!
The most important piece of dental health advice we ever offer is to keep up with good dental hygiene, and we take the importance of cleanliness to heart. While our office is currently closed for all non-emergency dental procedures, we continue to focus heavily on routinely cleaning and sterilizing our equipment and office environment. Today, we take a brief look at these processes, and how we remain dedicated to our patients’ and health and safety at all times.
Creating a clean and sterile environment
Keeping a clean and sterile dental office isn’t just good practice; it’s also required by the CDC and OHSA for dental offices to remain compliant. However, it’s more than a routine or a requirement for us; it’s part of our dedication to protecting the health of our patients in every possible. For example, all of our instruments in thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized using advanced autoclaves and safe, but potent, sterilizing and disinfecting agents. To keep this process completely separate from patient waiting and treatment areas, we’ve dedicated a secure space specifically for receiving, cleaning, sterilizing, and drying every instrument.
Optimal care for every instrument we use
Cleaning and sterilizing every dental instrument is a comprehensive process in itself. Each instrument is pre-soaked to moisten any organic buildup and make it easier to remove during the sterilization process. Before placing them in the autoclave for steaming and sterilization, we inspect each instrument carefully and remove any remaining buildup, if present, then thoroughly dry and package the instrument before placing it in the autoclave.
Optimal safety during office visits
Our commitment to health and safety extends beyond our routine cleaning and sterilization practices. Every time you visit, we also take every step possible to ensure our dentist, staff, and patients are properly protected. This includes the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including disposable face masks and gloves we use only once. Our use of advanced technology, such as digital X-rays and imaging, also allows us to provide safer, faster, and more convenient diagnostic and treatment services.
