Where is White Rock Lake, and Where is the Dog Park?

White Rock Lake and the surrounding park spread over 1,000 acres, located about 5 miles northeast of downtown Dallas.  This popular park includes hiking and biking trails, picnic areas and much more. The White Rock Lake Dog Park is on the northwest side of the lake, near the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and W. Lawther Drive. What’s At the Dog Park (Besides Dogs?)

This is an off-leash park, with separate areas for large and small dogs. Some other amenities include:

  • An information station
  • Dog washes (Pet Comfort Stations)
  • Drinking fountains
  • Shaded areas and seating (for humans)
  • Plenty of trees and grassy areas
  • Sidewalks and trash cans to keep things tidy

Can My Dog and Our Family Show Up Anytime?

Dog park hours are Tuesdays through Sundays, from 5 am until 11 pm.  The park is closed on Monday, and any time it is raining. You can use the city’s RainOut app, to check if the park is open or closed when the weather is questionable

The City of Dallas has several dog parks for Dallas residents and their canine friends.  The parks are located throughout the greater Dallas area.
