National Brush Day: What It Is And How To Celebrate!

The last thing on your mind right now is probably any other holiday other than Halloween! There are treats to purchase, costumes that need finishing, parties to consider, school activities to schedule and more! We get it. We also know that one of the main things on your mind, considering all of this Halloween business, is your children’s oral health. So, our Dallas, TX team hopes you might have just the tiniest bit of room left in your already over-packed day to consider National Brush Day! It might be just the answer to your concerns!

What Is It?

National Brush Day is on November 1st of every year. Translation: It’s the day after Halloween! The goal, of course, which will be to your pleasing, is to act as a huge reminder to take care of one’s oral health. As you might have already connected the dots here, we remind you that celebrating the holiday is a lovely way to bounce back from the overindulgence and not-very-smile-friendly celebrations that take place just the day and evening prior on October 31st. Pretty cool and definitely an easier way to get your kids excited about brushing their teeth!

Get Prepped

As you’re picking up candy and other odds and ends for your celebration, we remind you that it will probably be easy to remember the following: A fun way to celebrate National Brush Day is to prep with brand new toothbrushes and toothpaste for everyone! Wake up on November 1st, hand out the new items to the kiddos, and get ready for another day of fun. This time, it will be beneficial for everyone’s oral health.

Talk About The 2Min2x Rule

Have you heard of this? It’s the abbreviation that is commonly used to refer to two minutes, two times (two brushing sessions every day that last two minutes apiece). Check out 2min2x.org for some fun, educational, interactive oral health resources the kids can enjoy! Remember, as well, to discuss this 2min2x idea, so your kids are reminded that smile care is easy (and so they remember the basics).

Brush Together As A Family

Of course, like every other holiday, it’s time to celebrate together! So, whether your kids are still very young or you have a household with teenagers, brush your teeth together in celebration of National Brush Day! Turn on some music and make it fun, while your worries about Halloween and all of that sugar are brushed away, right down the drain!
