Your Summertime Checklist: Review For Smile Protection!

We like to offer up information-packed, concise review checklists on occasion as we approach new seasons, since you likely already have a million other details on your mind. For summertime, your kids have their minds set on one thing: Having fun! While you certainly want to enjoy yourself, too, you get the added bonus of being responsible to ensure everyone remains healthy and safe (and that includes promoting smile health along the way). Let’s offer you that refresher you need, so you’re good to go once summer is in full swing!

Watch For Stuff Like Seeds

What are you eating this summer? If watermelon, cherries, and more are on the list, do yourself and your kids a favor: Watch for seeds, pits, and more, so your smile health isn’t faced with any surprises.

Walk, Don’t Run

Running around through the grass in the backyard? No problem. Running around the pool, through the airport, etc.? Not so great. When there’s no cushion for a fall and a potential trip could be disastrous for your child’s smile health, remember: “Walk, don’t run” is extremely important.

Write Lists For Trips

Going somewhere? Write a list that includes dental hygiene products and you’ll be sure to arrive at your destination ready for smile care!

Compare Food Choices To Other Seasons

Are your kiddos downing tons of fruit juice and somehow, you’ve found yourself in the midst of a candy free for all? Or, would you say summer is fairly reflective of your usual choices? Don’t be too hard on yourself! However, if you feel like it’s time to reel it in, go ahead and back off of the not-so-great for smile health stuff and bring some better options back into the fold.
