Resolutions For Parents And Teens
Your little ones won’t necessarily be chomping at the bit to come up with New Year’s resolutions for their smiles! However, you and your teens can certainly sit down and talk over the things you think might make an impact on your oral health, as well as anything else that happens to fit the topic. (Hint: Maybe you have all been thinking about changing your dental hygiene products). Consider some easy ways to transition into 2018 with plans for healthy grins.
Resolution Idea: Go Electric For Better Cleansing!
Resolve to try out electric toothbrushes as a family and to hold one another accountable to ensure everyone is brushing every day, twice a day, for the full two minutes (each time) that we suggest. This will certainly help your teen maintain excellent oral health (and it might help you, too, if you tend to rush).
Resolution: Schedule Visits Early
This one’s for you, parent! Since you’re the one making the call (or feeling guilty if you accidentally put off your child’s dental cleanings and checkups for a bit too long), then why not resolve to simply get a head start on all of the scheduling? Plan out preventive visits well in advance, get both visits in our system for the full 2018 year, and your child’s oral health will be on track.
Resolution: Plan On Consistency
Talk with your teens about what it takes to maintain healthy smiles. Remind them that particularly when they get older, it’s harder to fix things. Care for smiles now and oral health will last. Get everyone on board when it comes to brushing and flossing (and attending visits) as suggested.
