If you haven’t yet scene the epic pumpkin display at the Dallas Arboretum this fall, you will certainly want to schedule a family trip soon. Over 90,000 pumpkins and other gourds have been used to help create Cinderella’s carriage, and other kid-friendly exhibits, an annual favorite and one that has been named one of the top gardens to visit in the fall by House Beautiful magazine. Of course, the Pumpkin Village is just one of the many reasons to enjoy Autumn at the Arboretum, now through November 23, 2016. Don’t Miss The State Fair This Season!

The State Fair of Texas has officially kicked off and is now in full swing, which means it is time to gather your family for a fun day of fried foods, carnival-style games and rides, and lots more family-friendly activities, deep in the heart of Texas, or more specifically in downtown Dallas. Enjoy Great Tunes at the Allen Folk Festival

Looking for a fun way to teach your kids about music, or simply interested in finding something fun and unique to do close to home this September? The Allen Public Library is offering a free concert, the Allen Folk Festival, which will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016. The event will begin with Mike Carroll and the Blues Evolution, which is dedicated to celebrating the influence of this popular form of American music, rooted in European folk music as well as African-American blues, jazz and rock. Beyond the Pale will then perform; it is a Celtic and folk band that marries the influence of European immigrants on early American folk music. (more…)

Irving’s Main Street Event Is Coming Soon

Just because summer is officially over and the kids have gone back to school, it doesn’t meant there aren’t still plenty of opportunities to have fun, as a family, on the weekends! In fact, in a few short weeks it will be time to once again enjoy the annual Irving Main Street Event. This is a street fair that is held each fall in the Irving Heritage District, which boasts a traditional hometown feel. The event will be hosted from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday, September 16 when there will be kids’ activities and music, and from 12, noon, to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016, when a car show will be held, along with live music, craft vendors, and much more fun for the whole family. Use Your Imaginations at the C.R. Smith Museum!

Are you looking for a fun way to encourage your children’s imagination, this fall? If so, why not make time to visit the Tinkertoy – Build Your Imagination exhibit, which is part of an ongoing event at the C.R. Smith Museum in Fort Worth. The museum celebrates the aviation history in America, while this exhibit in particular is designed to be both educational and fun, while helping children learn through open-ended play, particularly construction techniques using the classic toy by Playskool, Tinkertoys! Pokemon GO Is Coming to Town!
