The Allen Public Library is offering a free concert, the Allen Folk Festival, which will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016. The event will begin with Mike Carroll and the Blues Evolution, which is dedicated to celebrating the influence of this popular form of American music, rooted in European folk music as well as African-American blues, jazz and rock.
