Socially Distant Community Fun

Now that the weather is cooling off, being outdoors in Texas isn’t a fight against the heat! Which means if you’re looking for fun community events that are virtual or socially distant, then there are plenty of outdoor ones available for you and your family. In today’s blog, your Dallas, TX, pediatric dentist will look at four fun and exciting events you and your kids may want to check out!

  1. Movies in the Park:

You and your family can enjoy the movie-going experience safely at the Klyde Warren Park! Movies start at 7pm and you can enjoy the view of the Dallas skyline as a backdrop. On Saturday, October 4th they will be screening Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and on November 14th at 6pm they will screen The Lego Movie! The park is located at 2012 Woodall Rogers Freeway.

  1. Dinosaurs Live:

The Heard Natural Science Museum in McKinney, TX, will be hosting an outdoor event in which you and your family can see amazing dinosaur animatronics, including a life-size Tyrannosaurus Rex! The path is outdoors and stroller-friendly, so you can remain socially distant and safe while looking at realistic representation of dinosaurs. There is also an outdoor fossil dig for kids to play in as well! The event is from now through February 15th, 9am until 5pm each day.

  1. Drive Boo:

Traditional haunted house attractions may not be safe, but there are other fun options available! The American Airlines Center Silver parking garage will be hosting a multi-level haunted house you and your family can drive though! Each level has family friendly creepy fun, and there is an Apocalypse Upgrade if you want a creepier experience! The entire event is contact-free, and themes include carnivals, classic Halloween monsters, and movie characters. The Drive Boo is open from 7pm until 11pm on October 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, and 30th.

  1. Forest of Fear:

The campgrounds at Joe Pool Lake in Lloyd Park will be made into a fun, spooky haunted experience, with sights you can walk by or drive through. The event is open to all ages, and is $15 per vehicle. Guests must wear masks! The event is open from 7pm until 10pom on October 16th, 17th, 23rd, and 24th.
