More Springtime Fun: Mouthguard Reminders!
We have been reminding you that as the weather warms up and spring quickly approaches, it’s a good idea to make sure your kids are getting enough water. However, there’s something else to throw into the mix when you’re focused on protecting your children’s oral health during this much more active time of year: If your kiddos play sports of any kind, a mouthguard is an exceptionally good idea to keep their smiles safe. Gather more facts from our Dallas, TX team!
When You’re Not Sure Why It’s Important
If you’re not sure why it’s so important for your child to wear a mouthguard to protect his or her oral health during sports, we are more than pleased to discuss the details with you during your child’s next checkup. For now, remember that any strong impact to your child’s teeth (whether kids run into each other, equipment hits your child’s mouth, etc.), can lead to minor to very serious damage. A mouthguard absorbs the shock, so your child’s mouth doesn’t have to!
When You Have The Time
When you have the time before sports or other activities have begun, we encourage you to come in to learn about custom mouthguards. If you are interested, learn more about receiving one, so they fit your child’s teeth just right for wonderful comfort and protection.
When You’re In A Rush
When you suddenly remember that your child should be wearing an athletic mouthguard on the way to a game in which your child is going to participate, and you realize you don’t have time to come in for a custom guard, you can run to the drugstore to pick up a universal child’s mouthguard! Simply remember to use one every game, practice, etc. to keep your child’s oral health safe!
When An Accident Happens
Maybe your kids were just playing around in the backyard and, though it wasn’t a real soccer game out on the field, it was still enough activity to end up damaging your child’s tooth! Of course, your kiddo wasn’t wearing a mouthguard, and now you don’t know what to do! Good news: We offer emergency dental care at our practice. Regardless of the particular cause, when a dental problem occurs and you need our help right away, give our team a call ASAP, so we may fix the problem!
