  1. Next time your kids are frowning, you can give them another incentive to turn those frowns upside down. It takes 43 muscles for a person to frown, but only 17 muscles for him or her to smile! Make life a little easier by smiling more!
  2. Approximately half of people brush their tongues while brushing their teeth, which is a good idea since it can help remove bad breath-causing bacteria. Of course, dental checkups are always important!
  3. Did you know that teeth are the hardest substance in the entire body? Their enamel is harder than any of your bones. In fact, tooth enamel is the second hardest substance on earth. Only diamonds are stronger!
  4. Even early humans tried to take care of their teeth. It is believed that the Egyptians created their own “toothpaste,” of sorts, from salt, mint and pepper approximately 5,000 years ago. Can you imagine persuading your kids to use that, when convincing them to brush with bubble gum-flavored paste is probably hard enough?
