Outdoor Socially-Distant Community Events

Once again, for Friday we would like to talk about fun events your family can enjoy. A few of these events, such as Fire and Ice at Six Flags or Penguin Days, only have a few days left to be enjoyed! In addition, your Dallas, TX, pediatric dentist would like remind parents to bring their children in for a checkup and cleaning soon!

  1. Topiaries in the Garden

When the weather is warmer, you and your children can enjoy a tour of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s Topiaries in the Garden exhibit! The exhibit is open from now through June 30th. There are 12 topiary sculptures of animals and insects, and is free with admission to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. There are also 100 acres of grounds to visit, including reflection ponds, gardens with pagoda and koi fish, and more. Admission is $12, or $10 for seniors, $6 for kids 6 to 15, and free for anyone ages 5 and under. Parking is free! You can learn more at this link.

  1. Dallas Blooms at the Dallas Arboretum

Even tough winter is still technically around, the Dallas Arboretum has winter-resistant daffodils and more for people to see as part of the Dallas Blooms festival, which started on February 20th and lasts through March 7th. The weekends will have live music and cooking demonstrations, and through the week there will theme days for kids and parents, small children, and events of grownups too. Admission is only $5 and everyone five an older will be required to wear masks. On Wednesdays is buy-one-get-one-free admission. You can find out more and plan your visit by checking out this link.

  1. Penguin Days

This is the last weekend to enjoy Penguin Days at the Dallas Zoo! On Saturday and Sunday from 9am until 4pm you can get into the zoo for only $8! Children can see African penguins and other cold-friendly animals, and parents can plan a trip for a fraction of the usual cost! Be sure to buy tickets online and plan your visit, as to ensure proper social distancing they’re limiting when people can enter the zoo. You can find out more by checking out this link.

  1. Fire and Ice Winter Festival

Saturday and Sunday from noon until 7pm is the last chance to enjoy Six Flags’ Fire and Ice Winter Festival! Admission starts at just $19.61, and there are over 40 rides and attractions to see, including the Frosty Snow Hill, ice carvings, the Fire and Ice Marketplace, light shows, and a firework display on Saturday evening.
