Celebrate Chinese New Year In Dallas

This year, the Chinese New Year will be on February 12th. Even though gathering indoors for parties isn’t safe due to COVID-19, that doesn’t mean there are not safe ways to ring in the Lunar New Year with your family.   1. Chinese New Year Workshop

The Oak Cliff Cultural Center is inviting area families and individuals to celebrate the Chinese New Year with them! The event will happen on Zoom, making this perfect for those with COVID-19 concerns. Registration is currently open, and this event will happen this weekend, on Saturday, February 6th from 11am until noon. There is still time to register! During the workshop, you and your family will learn how to create a red envelope bookmark and incorporate lucky coin imagery into the design. The workshop will be hosted by artist Jin-Ya Huang. The materials you need will be provided, cone you register you can pick them up at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center, which is located in 223 West Jefferson Boulevard.   1. Lunar New Year on Asia Times Square

Celebrate the Lunar New Year over two weekends at Asia Times Square on 2625 West Pioneer Parkway in Grand Prairie. This will be a celebration of the Year of the Ox, and will take place on February 6th and 7th, and again on the 13th and 14th. There will outdoor and socially-distant Lion and Dragon dances, movies, food vendors, and more. They will be following COVID-19 precautions, and each day the festival is from 10am until 10pm.
