3 Upcoming Virtual Family Events

Each Friday we like to shift our focus from oral hygiene and children’s dentistry, to our community. We know that staying safe during the COVID-19 pandemic means limiting in-door gatherings of ten or more people. However, these steps often mean limiting what events and activities your family can enjoy! To help, your Dallas, TX, pediatric dentist likes to create a weekly list of virtual and socially-distanced events taking place in the DFW area.

  1. Earth Kids:

The City of Dallas and the Dallas Public Library will be hosting Earth Kids, weekly events that your children can tune into virtually! The next event will take place on Thursday, October 1st from 4pm until 5pm. The link is available here. Each week, there will be stories, demonstrations, special guests, and other fun activities to teach kids about helping the environment and keeping our planet green! Recommended for children ages 5 and older.

  1. DriveBoo!

With Halloween around the corner, many cities are canceling trick or treating and other fun seasonal activities. However, that doesn’t mean your children have to miss out on all the holiday fun! Each Friday through October, the American Airlines Center will be hosting a DriveBoo event. From the comfort of your car, you and your family can enjoy a drive through haunted house! General admission is $30, but there is an Apocalypse Upgrade for $40 that increases the scares! The event lasts from 7pm until 11pm, from October 2nd through the 30th. More information available here.

  1. Drive-In

Health experts and organizations all agree: going to the movie theater simply isn’t a safe idea. However, that just means that drive-in movies are making a huge comeback! In fact, you enjoy drive-in screenings at 2999 North Carroll avenue from Friday, September 25th through Saturday, October 4th. Movies start at 8pm. There are regularly-cleaned restrooms available, and you hear the movie by tuning your car radio to a specific FM station. Admission is $22 to $28 per car. Today is the National Comic Book Day Screening, so the film will be Guardians of the Galaxy, followed by Batman Returns. Throughout October, there will also be spooky, family-friendly selections too!
