Enjoy Colorful Fun During Dallas Arts Month!

Living in the Dallas-Forth Worth metroplex is not without its perks, and for decades the vibrant art scene in Dallas has been a particularly fun source of pride for the city. That’s precisely why Dallas has been celebrating a citywide Art Week since 2013, but this year Mayor Mike Rawlings officially increased the event to a full month. This year, all of April has been dubbed Dallas Arts Month, meaning there has never been a better time to take advantage of the many wonderful museums, theatres, galleries and concert venues throughout the city!

What Can You Catch This Year In Dallas?

There will be a Creative Conversation panel from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Dallas City Performance Hall to help usher in this month-long endeavor. This is just one of many events created specifically to highlight the first-ever Dallas Art Month, though.

Organizers also recommend checking out the Mexican art exhibit that is at Dallas Museum of Art now through July, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and of course the free block party, which will be taking place on April 22, 2017. The Changing Perspectives Block Party in the Dallas Arts District will feature a wide range of local artists, as well as the BANDALOOP Vertical Dance Company!

Why not make plans with your family to see a live show, visit a gallery or simply explore the wonderful paintings and sculptures on display throughout the city? You can see a full calendar of events being held as part of Dallas Art Month at www.dallasartsmonth.com. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #DallasArtsMonth as you explore the city, so others can get inspired to make wonderful art-filled memories of their own!
